On the 23rd of September, the African Child Trust Foundation (ACTF), led by the Executive Director and accompanied by members of the organization’s team, embarked on a scholarship award and school engagement visit to selected educational institutions within Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The schools visited were:
Wonder Toddlers Global Academy
Divine Towers and Tiffany Schools, Gwako
Sam Citadel International School
The purpose of the visit was to officially award educational scholarships to deserving students and present scholarship cheques to the school proprietors on behalf of the beneficiaries. This initiative forms part of ACTF’s commitment to promoting access to quality education and reducing barriers that prevent vulnerable children from realizing their academic potential.
The scholarship support was targeted at students from disadvantaged, vulnerable, and underprivileged backgrounds, reaffirming ACTF’s belief that every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances.
During the visit, scholarship awards were presented to selected beneficiaries across the three schools. The scholarship package was designed to support students’ educational needs and alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians.
The presentation of cheques to the school proprietors demonstrated ACTF’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and partnership with educational institutions in ensuring that the support reaches the intended beneficiaries.
The ACTF team engaged with school management, teachers, and students, discussing the importance of education as a tool for personal development and societal transformation. The interactions provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between ACTF and the schools while gaining insight into the educational challenges faced by students within the communities.
At Sam Citadel International School, the Program Manager delivered a brief but impactful health talk to students on the topic:
